Australia’s education system and framework is much advanced compared to other countries. Australia is one of top 5 favourite destination for International students over decades. This has immensely contributed toward maturing the education system to the current state at University level. This has also helped the Australian education department to reflect and make appropriate updates to primary and secondary curriculum and framework. The Australian education system and framework has evolved further to cater to the multi cultural and diverse community.
The traditional approach of imparting knowledge sharing is not relevant to the younger generation. I prefer calling knowledge sharing than teaching as knowledge sharing is a two way process, whereas, teaching orthodoxically only refers to one way. Modern class rooms interaction has evolved around “how to provide a meaningful experience to the student”. This is beyond sharing contents, it is now more about how and what tools are used to share the content. These tools and techniques are not limited to student-teacher interactive discussion, empowering students to question and challenge, using visual aids, gamification, technological aids, etc. To share knowledge with the Zen and Millium generations, the teachers need to start thinking from students point of view. Fundamental questions like “Why should I learn this topic?”, “How will it help me?”, “What is this for?” needs to be address in a clear way through realtime examples. The other important quality to develop in the students is the skill of inquisitiveness and ignite the desire to learn more. This can happen when teachers provide psychological safety net to the student to seek, learn, fail and learn again. This is a continuous process and a habit to be encourage in the knowledge seekers. This will not only help them to excel in their academics but also in their personal and professional life.
Hence, at SikshVrikrit, we follow an innovative and effective way of sharing the knowledge.
Our teachers work collaboratively with the students and parents to understand their goals and work towards a plan that is achievable and measured.
